We need over 250 volunteers to make our race happen. Donating a few hours of your time will give you good karma for years to come!
Thanks for your interest in volunteering at the Deuces Wild Triathlon Festival!
We have an exciting weekend in store for everyone and it would not be possible without the help of our dedicated volunteers. We have many positions available, and we welcome groups. With 15+ events and our festival spanning both Saturday and Sunday we need a small army of over 300 volunteers and staff to make it all work!
We will also need set-up help the Thursday and Friday leading up to the race, registration help on Friday and Saturday, and tear-down/clean-up after each event. Each volunteer will receive a meal ticket for the day they work, a volunteer shirt and a snack bag for their shift, plus lots of thanks from grateful participants as they pass by!
We do make donations to groups and organizations, so sign yours up today!
We need volunteers for the following areas:
- Set-up (Thursday & Friday)
- Registration (Friday & Saturday)
- Parking (Saturday & Sunday)
- Timing (Saturday & Sunday)
- Transition Area (Saturday & Sunday)
- Wetsuit strippers (Saturday & Sunday)
- Bike Aid/Course (Saturday & Sunday)
- Run Aid/Course (Saturday & Sunday)
- Finish-line (Saturday & Sunday)
- Post-race food (Saturday & Sunday)
- Tear-down/Clean-up (Saturday & Sunday)
You can make a small commitment or a large one. Either way, we guarantee that you will have a ton of fun! Competitors know that their day would not go well without you there and they let you know it!
Thank you for volunteering!
Volunteer Briefing and Party
On Friday evening we will have an information session for all aid station captains. While only the captains are required to attend, this event is open to all volunteers. Specific information will be sent to you via email.
They vary in start time, duration, and location. You will want to check your volunteer email confirmation after it arrives to find out your unique details. It’s important to note that volunteers are expected to stay for the duration of their unique shift. These are the dates and general times that volunteer shifts fall within: Thursday 8am-5pm, Friday 8am - 6pm, Saturday 5:30am-6pm, Sunday 6am-5pm.
Volunteers should plan to bring sunscreen, a bottle of water, and snacks if you’re the eat-every-two-hours type. Volunteers should NOT bring devices which may distract a well-intentioned volunteer from ensuring athlete safety on the race! We suggest dressing in layers, as the weather can be cool in the morning and fairly hot in the afternoons – you will likely want to shed a layer or two in order to stay comfortable. And remember, that volunteer shirt needs to stay on top of any other clothing you have on the entire time.
On your volunteering day, you should plan on arriving at least 30 minutes before your shift time begins. This will allow you plenty of time to enter the park, find a parking place and walk to volunteer check-in, which is located at the Volunteer Tent of the festival area. Carpooling is highly encouraged as parking is limited.
What you will get
At volunteer check-in, you will receive your volunteer T-shirt that is required to be worn over the top of your clothing. It is used to identify you as a volunteer while you are there. It is yours to keep as a thank-you and souvenir. You will also receive a meal ticket to be used during each shift that you work.
You will most likely have questions for us! Not to worry, our staff will be at the race site every day and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
